Restoring from backup

If a complete restore is required, it is important that new files are removed from the computer before the old files are restored.

The DOS command:(executed from the \JEWEL directory)

REN *.db? *.bk?

will accomplish this and keep a backup of the data files that existed before the restore operation. Do the same if only a few files are being restored - eg: REN r*.db? r*.bk? - before restoring the data files starting with the letter "R".

After restoring the data files, it is necessary to recreate indexes for all the files that were restored. To do this, you must go to U(tilities, X(pand, I(ndexes, F(ull (or O(ld and enter "-1" (minus one) at each restored file name).
